Social Media Manager, Toronto International Film Festival
Melissa Feeney is a strategic communications professional with a knack for leveraging social media channels to evaluate trends, strengthen brands, engage audiences and measure results in real time. As the Social Media Manager for the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), she designs and executes campaigns that fuel discussions about TIFF events, while promoting, and capturing the events live to a growing global audience.
Melissa has built an impressive social media following for TIFF over the past two years by architecting and implementing social media marketing campaigns that are highly calculated, creative and interactive. She has also increased social media use throughout the entire organization by inspiring and training TIFF team members – from interns to programmers to the c-suite.
Prior to joining TIFF, Melissa served as an event organizer for WordCamp Toronto where she played an instrumental role in attracting renowned WordPress developers to the community-sponsored event for the world’s largest blogging platform. Melissa has six years of communications experience in the arts and digital media industries, a proven track record across multiple marketing disciplines, and a deep understanding of the role marketing programs play in long-term business strategies. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, Canada, and a graduate certificate in Corporate Communications and Public Relations from Centennial College, Toronto.
